We moved to Granite Shoals 4 years ago from Colorado. I grew up here in Tx but moved to Colorado Springs when I took a job with Digital Equipment and later moved on to Oracle Corp. Then in 2000 that all came crashing down when I was diagnosed with a nasty bone disease. 9 months of chemo later it was stopped I weighed over 100lbs less and barely had any teeth left. Then my heart started acting up. Finally had that taken care of last Dec after a couple of episodes of really bad chest pain. 6 months later I'm finally getting back to "normal" and can get out and do a few things.

Those things are shooting video of anything that has to do with a motor and lots of noise. Been doing that for a couple of years now and I'm finally getting some decent image and edits. Its all for fun just to get me out side and getting some exercise. Then I have the tapes to edit during the week. That is unless some thing really flips my switch then I'm liable to go to an event and turn out a vid the same day   Now that I found out that I can do a decent job with drag boats I'll be going to as many races as I can. This is a shot of me at a SCCA race in Okla last Spring. If you see me at a race come up and say hi.

You can count on me being at all the races next year. And I'm trying to get a photo pass for the Worlds although that is proving to be difficult. There is just no rule that covers an old retired guy just making videos for fun. If you aren't a business they don't want to talk to you. Oh well that is just the first pass at them. I haven't given up yet. I was all loaded up to go to Waco called the police that Sunday and it was rained out. Wanted to go to San Angelo since that is my wife's home town and our family reunion was that weekend too. But my sterum wasn't healed up enough from the bypass for me to travel yet. Then I plain missed Ft Worth which I should have remembered to check since I used to go to boat races there when I was a kid. So there was only one race I would have missed had other crap not gotten in the way. With boat racing you really don't need to get out of Tx anyways. Plenty of action and world class boats here. So if the deal in Ariz doesn't happen no biggie I'll get plenty of great footage at the races in Tx. I shot sand draggers yesterday and now I know the stuff from last weekend wasn't a fluke. I finally figured out this fancy camera I have. Took 5 months but hey if you spend that much money you should take awhile to figure out.
