Bob Byrd out of Fresno, Ca owned and drove this shovel nosed Sanger hyro in the early seventies. It was powered with a 426 Blown Chrysler. I believe 1972 was the last year he campaigned his boat in the Blown Gas Hydro class. He raced with NDBA against some strong competition back then, "Windjammer" (Bob Venzuela), "Gone"(Mary Rife),"Cruicifer" (Mac Christensen) and Last Chance (Dwight Bale) to name just a few. It was impressive back then to run 140 mph in this class. Each time he eliminated his competition, the name of the boat was added onto the transom of the Bounty Hunter. It was a long list.
