| I had post a reply about a BFH called War Bonett the name I ment was War Paint . Does anyone recall who drove this boat ? I think it was a BFH .

I don't know about war paint but I own WAR BONNET ,we aquired it from a friend of my dads in the mid to late 80s.

| Regarding these War boats the driver I'm trying to recall I thought drove a boat with the name War..... something . Is your War Bonnet a Flatty of Hydro . War Paint was what I have been told a BFH anyone recall anything close ? |

War bonnet is a shovel nosed hydro I do not ever remember it being on fuel when Jack Hardy owned it.,That person I got it from ran in the brackets with it Benie

| Greg thats funny that you agree, I was just telling Laurie we needed to fire up the old Drag Boat Nostalgia section. We have had some request latly from some school kids want to do book reports on drag boat racing.

| Gaylord (Moonbeam) Wethered!! I seen him strolling around the pits at Firebird a couple years back. He drove a few different boats back then. I used to work on a fueler called Mr. Ken that he drove a few times in the mid 80's.

He's also memorably quoted on one of the Hot Boat videos as saying that drag boat racing is better than sex!
I have openly and consistently maintained that it (drag boat racing) is them most fun you can have with your clothes ON!
Guess it's all dependent on who you're hangin' with! |

i would have to say that he mooned the last time in MR. KEN i know he drove it in pheonix in 85 or 86. if i remeber correctly the boat never wanted to take a set right. but then again when bob burns and brad tuttle drove our boats they never made bad moves and gaylord had hadling problems in ours so it could be the driver

Yes Padgett you are correct Mr Ken 1986 Phoenix Color red that thing was wild and way worthy of a mooning > And yes that is Bob Burroughs in Plumb Crazy however I did not know that used to be the Nitro Bandit, thanks for that info . That photo was taken by the late Monty Chandler . I am saddened to say for those of you who may not know that Bob Burroughs passed away of lung cancer 3 or so years ago .
