If, The races are canceled, again I want make sure everyone knows, Charlie didnt do anything any differently, than what Ali did when he was here.

The Lions have a different leadership now, and their direction is changing. Due to this change of direction it became apparent to me that I need to spend more time with my day job.

I dont want to speculate any further.

Jeff I agree that the news "SUCKS"....I hoped for better news to share but as of 4:00 this afternoon that was the official word from City Hall.

Maybe we can pray for a September race like we had in the beginning. (The Dragboat Round-up)
Oh yeah we have to have water in the lake to have that one.....

The sad thing is that "EVERYONE" loses here, the racers, the fans, local business, the Lions club and the city.

I just rec'd an email from my friend on the city council Here is what was decided at yesterday's meeting prior to the regular City Council Meeting.

The Races are NOT canceled. The City Administrator and the Parks and Rec. Director will be calling IHBA today or tomorrow to see if the time line is still in place to where a race can be held this year. This year the City will become an integral part of the process.

Bruce's information came prior to yesterday's meeting.

I will be advised of the outcome of the up coming meeting.

Have a great day.

Duane, I know what you mean. I am no longer the chairman of this event, yet I feel very stressed out.

Kinda like sky diving w/o a parachute.

i completely understand - that was your baby for a very long time, and now you sit back hoping the kids can safely get the car out of the driveway, and all you can see is them hitting everything that's not moving.  perfectly normal to want something we spent a lot of time growing to continue to bloom...    but, just like when i retired, at some point gotta let 'em learn at least a few things the hard way.

don't stress bob, just relax.  you can always drive up to red bluff, drive your golf cart around and hang with the racers

Bob,

Not a bad idea. I'll take my bride to Chico to see her mom, then I'll go for a little drive.

Any idea what the ticket price is for Red Bluff?

There was a meeting today within the City of Chow. Administration. Results will be know tomorrow. My gut feeling is it will happen. On the scheduled date? I dont know. Time frame is getting short. I heard thru the Great Chowchilla Grape Vine, that IQ was to visit the Lions soon.

Due to some very personal reasons I have removed myself even further from the yo-yo activity. I do have a friend at the top of the City's profile who has been keeping me informed.

If you are a gambler, I'd say it will happen. With that being said, there is a brand new Holiday Inn Express that is scheduled to be open by June1. It is between McDonalds and Bob Silva Ford.

I am surprised no one has started a pool on this soap opera.

Everyone have a great week.

Jeff, I know you were not pointing at me, however I used to be the chairman, and I should take some of the blame of past years.

Boy am I glad I retired!

Off to work, gotta make some $ for the lil lady.

Have a great week.
