Incredible runs for Bob, Ron and Roger!!!!
What were the 1/8th mile times??
Eddie we missed you this weekend. They had it on rails after the first attemp. I didn't see the slips except for our pairing 2.94 @ 203mph. I heard they were all mid 2.9s at 202 or 203 mph. The bad news for all of us is Brad Meyers told me it pushed the sponsons down and Ron gave it a breath and it still ran 4.58!!! Great job Rick and the rest of the crew.

From our Race Report posted by Laurie Liquid Quiker 0.472 2.956 202.42 4.593 0.273 2.948 203.25 4.582 Any MPH posted here or on any other website is only speculation by one or more opinions. Charlie apologized to the Liquid Quicker team at the award ceremony and accepted responsibility for the clocks failure to record a MPH for their runs. He made a commitment to resolve the timing issues. (PS I have the speach recorded) |

I can't speculate on why he did not get a MPH when the boat in the other lane did. His two runs were in opposite lanes on different days and his numbers are nearly identical.
If you really want to blow your mind, we know his 1/8 and 1/4 ET's on both runs, therefore an average MPH over the final 1/8 can be established. This should be significantly lower than his peak MPH. Do the math. |

Well since I step in it with both feet here is what I posted on another site. I'm sure I'll live to regret this.
Both passes were awesome. Again I'm not trying to stir up the pot so please help me figure this out. Are my calculations correct?
At 260 mph you travel 381.33 FPS. With a 1.64 sec. last 1/2 you travel 625.386 feet, 34.61 feet short. At 270 mph you travel 396 FPS. With a 1.64 last 1/2 you travel 649.44 feet. Still a bit short. This is with an average mph for the distance not the terminal speed. In other words you have to be 260 mph or 270 mph at 661 feet of race course and maintain it to 1320.
We know they were at 203 mph at the 660 so they must have been much higher than 260mph or 270 mph and slowed down before the lights to those speeds to average 260 or 270 for the last 660 feet. Just for kicks if you averaged 275mph you will travel 661 feet in 1.64 seconds.

Daaaaamn!! that thing must have had one heck of an after burner to pick up the back end like that. Usually a mid 2.9, 1/8th is good for a 4.90 1/4. Hats off to Roger for the finish line hp's. It appears I'm going to have to spend some late nights at the chalk board to try and catch up with that!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What was Speed Sport running to the 1/8th ? They have been the picture of consistancy and big MPH over the last few years. How did they arrive at the MPH #'s for L.Q. ?? I heard someone mention that the clocks don't go over 260, which seems kind of odd since we've seen a 263. run. |

Geral, that's what I'm talking about.
V average = D/T
660ft / 1.64 = 402 ft/s x 3600s (1 hour) / 5280 ft (1 mile) = 274 MPH.
Eddy, here are SS's numbers in the other lane on Sat's 2nd round.

I have to agree with Eddie, We both ran 2.8'S both in the 207 to 211 range to the 1/8th in Chowchilla, We ran 5.07 with the belt off at 1100 feet, Eddie ran 4.80 out the back. Look at SS 1/8th 2.98 at 4.95 et DONT GET ME WRONG, Roger and the LQ boys did an awsome job. Roger has that thing running like a rocket. Just my thoughts. |

Did anyone get a finish line photo? I know Mark was just short of it.
Here are the numbers from Q2;

2.984 |

SS's M.O.V. is 0.056.
241.5 MPH = 354.2 ft/s
352.4 ft/s x 0.056 = 19.8 ft M.O.V.
Of course if LQ was travelling at the speeds mentioned that, M.O.V. could be as high as 22.5ft |

| Hey scott go watch the video on the other site and tell me how you can say that. Also ask Hoss who was down the river the furthest. The white boat never went past the red boat and it is quite evident in the video where the white boat is. John Haas |

Hey John. I hadn't seen the video until now. That's why I asked if anyone had a finish line photo.
The video is taken from past the inramp, probably near the Port Authority building and gives a very deceiving angle. If you freeze frame it, where you can see the finish line buoys, it looks like he had closed the gap a bunch, considering you had a .357 jump on him.
You are correct. You ended up way down course from him. That white boat shuts down incredibly fast, and did it on all his runs. |

| Scott you can freeze frame that or do what ever you like. My chute is pulled in the traps and there is know where in that video or two others thatI have watched that the white boat is even close. You guys can do the math all you want but the truth is in that video. The final round just tells the story all the more. With all of that said congrats to the LQ guys for a good win. | I undestand Scott It is not about that and nothing we could prove will change the out come. These pictures you have posted just confirm it all the more.Look at the last photo you can see Im out of the throttle and where is the white boat. You take my rt advantge and do the math the white boat should be long past me.I also dont think IHBA or anyone is trying to pull a fast one what would be there gain but I do beleive there was a malfunction with the timing nothing computes to 4.58 or does anything show that other than the timing board. That boat and that team are capable of those numbers but anyone looking at the facts will see there is somthing not right. I hear you John. After that run on Sat, I was one of the biggest skeptics, until he virtually duplicated the numbers on Sunday. What are the odds of a random error happening to the same boat, on seperate days, in different lanes, with almost identical numbers.
I will reserve judgement until some more compelling photos come out, if they exist. |

Anybody notice that SS 4.95 minus reaction time advantage of .357 equals LQ 4.593? Coincidence?.... Oops, doing the math it looks like a .413 advantage. wouldn't that mean SS finished first?
