By the way Leland Bailey, PE 383 Cole Hydro, from West Virginia, was 3rd, and Chip Hughes was 4th. Leland was alone in the final 8 and the semi finals with a naturally aspirated boat, all others blown. Congratulations to Leland also.

Thanks to all the smoking in the cove directors and all the workers. The race was run with the racer and the fans in mind. The ramp people were great they really worked hard. Great race!!!! Talk about a tough field. In the 7 second class there were 32 boats. The number 24 spot was 7.17 I believe. We had a 7.099 and was 18. This is the closes racing I've ever seen. When you're talking less than a .1 second between 1 and 16 it's tight. You might say this is the world finals for bracket boats. I hope Scott puts up the qualifying sheets.

Water Rocket, good meeting you too. We didn't do bad for our first time to the Cove. We were #2 qualifier in the second chance race. Broke out on the first round with a 6.98. The other boat saved me with a red light. In round 2 it was close all the way. I ran a 7.09 to Randy Johnson's 7.11. Our reaction time put us on the trailer. It was neck to neck at the finish. Great run. We ended up 3rd. Congradulation to Randy on taking the first place trophy.

Joey, Thanks for the congrats! There was great racing in the cove all around. Congrats to Ed Anderson in the 6's. Taking home "10 LARGE" has got to be an awesome feeling. Any racer that hasen't been to the cove is missing out! I Double Dog Dare to see everyone there again next year.

Mike that is it, I bought the boat when I retired from PGF and it was my play boat, I never got around to playing much and Chad was in need of a runnerbottom, so in January of this year I sold it to him, and the rest is history.

In the one photo, I would bet the ONLY thing in the water is the lower half of the outboard, the prop, and the Balls this guy or gals has hangin..!!!! WOW...

Jim, there is a pier that is on the course, that is where the photographer was by looking at the pix.
The pier can come into play if someone gets out of shape, but it is only second to the granite mountain at the shutdown area.

Yes what pier? If you sit on the rope and look at that thing, you won't want to run. I don't even look at it, just down the course. And by the way, i do like the outside the best. I would like to see the pier moved before some racer moves it. I'm sure that would probably take an act of congress but it really needs to go.

Bill swears there are 36 nails in the boards in the end of that pier. Said it bothered him a lot more than running into anything at the end of course. Most drivers lined up on the right hand side fo the left lane to give it a little more berth.

I never saw anybody get close to the mountain! That's nothing to worry about.... But the Pier, Now that is a potental hazard.

The wind pushed Wesly Ice (Left) into the finish line lazer, if he would have been in the inside lane the pier might have been a bigger problem.

Well; Ive kind of caught my breath now. Thanks to everyone who came to the Cove. Congratulations to Ed Anderson, Travis Tuttle, Allen Bennet, and Rickey Conklin, for winning their respective classes, along with all the second, third, and fourth place finishers in the big show. Also a big congratulations goes out to the second chance winners; Roger Leas, Randy Johnson, and Donnie Lott. Just remember, quallifying at the Cove is something to crow about.
