An 8.0 boat will not make the top 20 at the cove. It takes a 7.75 - 7.80 to run an 0 down their.

They have over 64 Boats entered so far! And there will be alot more showing up than that. There is only 130 entries allowed, and only 96 to Qualify for Sunday. With only 64 of those (in 4 class's) will run for the big $$$$$$$$$$$$$$!

I know this isn't where this belongs but since you are talking about 8.00 boats and capsules.... I completely agree especially with the numbers run in Bryan in PGF, that is why Bernie will NOT be racing again until he is in a capsule boat! And yes I've already informed him. LOL

Jimmy, you would want to be sure and turn right, as the dam is on the left just around the corner, when you make a pass you trun right and hold in the valley until all in your class has run, then you calmly come back up the course to the takeout ramp.

Sam, we had a setback this morning Carol's sister had a stroke last night and as of this moment she is getting ready to leave for South Louisiana, her sister is in pretty bad shape and it is touch and go at the moment.
So my plans will be minute by minute up until the time to go to Malvern, our plans were to go on Wednesday night and help Scott with tech on Thursday, but it is wait and pray and see how it goes.

I haven't been on for a while. I see that you are going to Hot Springs. It is really a blast. I think it is the bracket racers world championship.
You had a post on the first page that said the 6.00 class was the same as the 8.00 1|4 mile. It depends on the boat you are driving. A jet or flat may be close but i don't think so. A hydro is not even close. Out in Ky last month when they had the 1000ft time set up, i had a 7.60 1\4 mile run and only had a 6.20 1000ft. What was your 1000ft time on Sat. out there? Jim Murray had A couple of 7.90 runs and only ran 7.50s in the 1000ft. I think that is close, best i can remember? So you 8.00sec. boats that haven't been to the cove before better bring some muscle with you.

I made a booboo on Jims 1000ft time. It was 6.50s in the 1000ft.

383, you are right, that 6 second @ 1000'requires a boat that is capable of running a mid 7 1/4 mile time, that is if one is serious about bringing home the bacon.
I went there with an 11 second flat that could only muster 9.37 and that didn't make the show, but the spectating was great.

Leland, it depends on the hull and how it's set up. Most hydros are a little slow out of the hole compaired to the other hulls. We usually make it up on the top end. Problem here, the 1000' takes away our top end charge. Hopefully we'll have enough to make the field. If not, I hope Jim brings enough moonshine for the both of us. If it don't work in the boats, we can drown our sorrows. LOL See ya'll at the Cove.

Are you going to do a gear change? I sure would have liked to had a shorted gear last year. I think i have enough power to run real close this time. It takes a couple of runs to figure out where you are on that short track.
