honest, i'm not sure we've met?  i'll try to look for ya and say hi.  an .02 is real nice, maybe we'll get a chance to pair up sometime (i just got lucky with the .01; just a wagcool ).   i was glad 'ol rs didn't go any quicker though, 'cuz he forgets to declare in sometimes, and he kept tellin' me all year he wanted a piece.  i do want to see the 10 grow, because it's a fun class to race in.

now if i can just remember where the keys are for the trip to phoenix...

We met once, probably a year ago. RS is a good guy. We plan on having a good time with all the other 10's next year. Good luck in Phx.

freakedI thought she was going to be at the finals confused If so I think the topic is to run or not to run according to the rules. That is great I like rules I also like the old stuff and hope they let her do something. idea verybody is aware of the risks. It is not like they haven't done this before and I am sure someone will make the right decision. I just want to see the boat and maybe a pass with in the guide lines of a non capsule boat.idea I do hope she will be at finals. I don't know where the rooster tail is.shocked <!-- Edit -->

It was discussed that she would only diplay the boat at the finals. Not sure if they decided to go or even if they contacted the IHBA or Firebird.

Well its good to hear how everyone views this topic and how we would set the rules if we were "King"....However I just wanted to post a few of the pictures I took of Mary just after she shut down on Sunday's pass. Open up the pic and zoom in on Mary's Smile.....It's priceless...

This is a little bit of a story for Drag Boat Review on this subject. I hope you enjoy it.

It was late on Saturday and Mary was ready to make her first run. She was in the water, she started the motor, but , when it was time to go, she could not get it in gear and had to be towed in. Gene Deaver looked in the boat and immediately saw the problem. The handle that puts the gear box in gear did not have enough travel in it and needed to be adjusted. The adjustments were made, but they would have to wait until the next day to try it again. The great folks from the NJBA allowed Mary to make her pass on Sunday. They put #275 in the water, put her in gear, and fired the motor. “I went about 300 feet, then put my foot in it and did a small burn out”, says Mary. “Boy, I can’t tell you how excited I was just to sit in that seat again. The boat felt GOOD!”

Achieve is a verb meaning to bring about or accomplish by effort, skill, or courage. Effort is the vigorous or determined attempt or a strenuous physical or mental exertion. Skill is the ability to do something well. Courage is defined as the ability to do something that frightens one and having strength in the face of pain and grief. The dictionary defines a hero as someone admired for their courage and outstanding achievements. Feeling pride or satisfaction in one’s own or another’s achievements is how the word “proud” is defined. “Proud Mary” is the perfect name for #275 and her driver, Mary Rife McCally. She is truly a hero for the sport, women, and me.

I am really SORRY to make so many upset with the Proud Mary, that was once a Top Fuel Hydro.
At one time this Boat did run 206 With A 426 and 2 speed and all the good stuff for that time. Those times are gone!!
The boat now has a STOCK 392 with a 671 blower on it. I really don't think it would go over 140.
We will never know, it is a steel block and I do not have deep pockets.
All I wanted to do was do a little burn out.

Mark it was really great to see you, you sure look like your Dad!! It was so neat to just be back at the beach. The Reunion was one big success.
Thank you for the comment on the boat.
The Proud Mary boat is a cackle boat now.
Mike Kuhl set the fuel system up just to cackle like the Nostalgia fuel cars. A small burn out is all she can do with out burning it up.
