hey duane, question when yu get time. assuming this is qualifying today - is there any order for qualifying, or do people just go to the lanes when they feel like it, like test and tune??? not trying to be a smartass, but the way the times show up, seems like it's shuffled up quite a bit. also, i see the d/a is slightly over 5000, but are there other adverse conditions back there? just seems like quite a few boats are way off their numbers... |

@Bob, yes PM is running 1/4, TAF,TAH and TFH will run 1000' and depending on the track PM would too if needed. George Olsen beached his PM during 1st round. Hit F5 to refresh the page the ajax refresh is scrambling the runs when it refreshes. @ Robert will do and look forward to seeing everyone back home in a few weeks. |

i'm really not one to make a lot of comments about what is going on... HOWEVER, Sanders P/M run with a 7.000 and chopping that tree down with a .002, that is going to be VERY tuff to beat tomorrow!!! |

Sorry folk’s tough day. Daryl is ok and so is John. Speed Sports lost the rudder around the 660 mark took out the center line finish and crossed lanes into Problem Childs path. John could not do anything other than what he did and pull the chutes. Daryl drove into his chutes and was pulled along as Speed Sport crossed under the crane Joe was in and passed only feet from Mark as he graced the shoreline. Problem Child is destroyed, Speed Sports damage is unknown to me at this time they were able to load it on the trailer. Everyone is drained and praise it was not worse than it was. Duane |

Wow, I am glad they were slowed down a little before SS crossed. From the initial reports I read I thought they were still under power when it happened. Hope Daryl is ok and the Eddie gets a new hot rod together soon. Also hope that Speed sports can get fixed up in time for Augusta. It was bad but could have been a lot worse. |

I know it is a haul, but it would be good to see the EKR crew make an appearance for the East Coast Swing and show off that new paint job on the hauler. Sell Tee shirts etc. Maybe some folks could help offset the cost of the trip. Sure would be good to see them, wont be the same without them. Glad to hear Daryl is doing well, looks like it was one wild ride. |

Man, from those angles that is scary. That video is Crazy, you see a lot more from that side. Seeing tha capsule floating with part of the windshield gone I am very happy that he was not in an old capsule with no re-enforcing on the lid. Thank god for all the recent improvements in safety we have had over the past few years. |

It appears that on the last skip of the capsule.the left side stuck..Im thinking the water hydrauliced the edge of the capsule lip because you can't see any bolts that held the canopy in place along the lower rail. That was a new F16 from the Sylmar Ca. plant. The boat will be at my shop next week...the new one is in the mold NOW..! |

Jim, We were thinking that when the canopy flexed it was stopped abruptly by the roll cage that is below it and broke.(to much distance between the two or to close) Those things are designed to take a 500+ mph strike and survive but they need to be able to flex and rebound. If not then thay need to be supported so thy don't flex at all. On another note you had one bad ass hot rod and from what I hear fromthe doctors report you have about 14 weeks to get another one ready. Get off of here and get to work. Just my 2 cents |

Buzz, we thought the same at first but there were no marks on the bars from being hit. Apparently he landed in about 4' of water with heavy rip-rap rocks on the bottom, we thought that might also be the culprit and if we had the piece of windshield it would easily confirm if it had been "Rocked" another scenario is that it might have been struck by one of the sponson plates that adjoin the riggers to the hull. Hard to tell right now what did it for sure and I surely don't want to speculate until we have the capsule back here in town and closer film footage. I AM however extremely proud of Daryl's latch design that kept the lid from coming off. Jim is working on changes to the amount of surface area as we speak. A special thanks to Jim and Brian for building a bad-ass capsule, it obviously saved Daryl's life. |

For now, anyone can e-mail me for t-shirts, hats and other apparel. We take CREDIT CARDS and have pay-pal account- eddieknoxracing@msn.com Thanks for the orders, every sale counts for building the new boat. Just a little hint, the new boat will NOT be painted as the last one. Get the existing shirts while they last. |
