CP PISTONS POSTS OVER $4000 IN CONTINGENCY DOLLARS
by Duane Sims on 23 Jun 2010 11:34 AM

June 21, 2010 Irvine, CA—CP-Carrillo is proud to announce that it has signed a contingency sponsorship agreement with Lucas Oil Drag Boat Series, and will post over $4000 in contingency payouts across all categories classes in 2010 and support end of year banquet with cash and piston prizes.

“We are excited about our new partnership with the Lucas Oil Drag boat series,” stated CP-Carrillo’s Cindy Verkooij, “In addition to being the premiere series for competitive boat racing, it is an ideal proving ground for our racing piston technology.”  Verkooij further adds some of this technology consists of sealing up cylinders better than anyone in the industry. New skirt shapes that we’ve developed have introduced the most stable piston available, which translates into better ring seal and reduced harmonics in the bore. This along with our in-house ability to create a 3D mirror image of any chamber on top of the piston, as well as our 3D underhead milling options give you the lightest, most stable high compression piston money can buy. We’ve developed programs from River Racer all the way up to Top Fuel and Alcohol classes.

ABOUT THE LUCAS OIL DRAG BOAT SERIES

For the first time in twenty years, all of drag boat racing has been united under one umbrella and will now be known as the Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series.  The NJBA ( National Jet Boat Association ), SDBA ( Southern Drag Boat Association), SLDBA ( St. Louis Drag Boat Association ), CDBA ( Columbia Drag Boats) and KDBA ( Kentucky Drag Boats ) have all agreed on a single rule book that will unite approximately 900 race teams across the country.

This newly unified series will hold 46 events in 10 states and will be featured prime time for 13 weeks on  SPEED. The liquid quarter mile series features several pro classes including Top Fuel Hydro that run the quarter at a staggering time of 4.70 seconds and 250+ mph.   The professional show will also include 6 sportsman classes to provide added excitement to the spectators.

“We are very proud of this historic alliance.  We have seen the potential of drag boat racing through our years of involvement with the IHBA series.  Now that everyone has united with a common goal, we can bring something truly special to the race fans,” said Lucas Oil Executive Vice-President Bob Patison.
