Inaugural Diamond Dragboat Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri has been canceled.

Lucas Oil regrets to announce that the inaugural Diamond Dragboat Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri will not be held in 2010.

Despite valiant efforts by all involved in the construction of the purpose-built drag boat race track at the Lucas Oil Speedway, severe winter and spring weather conditions have prevented the facility from being completed in time for the scheduled opening in early September of 2010.

Rather than cutting corners and rushing to meet the scheduled deadline, Lucas Oil officials prefer that this state-of-the-art race venue makes its debut in 2011 as a top notch race event, complete with onsite camping, sky boxes and numerous other amenities for the racers and race fans alike. “Skimping on quality is simply not an option”, stated Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series Director, Ken Dollar, adding “We don’t just want it full of water - we want it done right”.
