Posted By Dale Murray on 15 May 2010 02:24 PM Why would you pit the Fuel boats so far away from the crowd ? When you know they depend on T-shirts sales to help them at the races. Will you allow them to pit somewhere else or do they have to pit way out? |

Dale, the levee is none level dirt and dust versus an asphalt parking lot. If it is possible it would be nice to see the entrance area force the fans through that area prior to the levee. However getting in and out of the in/out ramp is another concern. There are a lot of issues I am sure will be address by September’s race and I agree with you the pro pits should include the teams finical interest. This area has great potential for a stadium style physicality just not sure about the surrounding property but excellent location for Southern California to have. |

Yes you will be able to park enclosed trailers on the levee.
It looks like it is going to be a 3 day event with test and tune on friday.

By class I'm referring to a NJBA pro class. Lucas will have all of their classes as usual. |

Have you been to elsinore? The road out to the levee would not be suitable for the truck and trailers for most of the Fuel boats. The road is very narrow and the turn from the main road is very tight, it is hard enough to get a regular trailer down there. I'm sure will be plenty of time to sell t-shirts. |

Is Elsinore a national event? Running Fuelers there would be kind of scary. Rocks at one end or shooting through the gap at the other. |

Scott, not sure if you know this already but the fuelers and all other Pro classes are running a 1000' now so they should be okay.. TAH ran a full 1/4 mile last year and I didn't hear of any close calls.. My concern is, I hope there's still water.. I hear that lake tends to empty during the summer months.. |

Darold, yes you heard right! The Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series will be at Lake Elsinore in conjunction with the NJBA.
Last year’s NJBA race was packed and one would expect this year to be a full house of spectators and pro class boats.
There is a potential for 7 TFH such as: Toxic Rocket, Problem Child, Speed Sports, Hot Licks, and Spirit of Texas, the return of Whiskey River and Madness, 6 TAH (3 new boats should be out by then), full field of TAF and PM.
Hopefully threading a needle or wate will not be the case! |

On a side note, the word on the street is that Elsinore got cancelled due to safety concerns from Lucas and will be relocating the event to Chowchilla.. This hasn't officially been broadcasted yet but it's 99% certain.. I believe there is a town meeting in Chowchilla tonight to discuss the event.. |

@Vnce knowing the history of Chowchilla we would be lucky, however I feel Ken has a better support than the past.
We do have Lake Ming already. (We being NJBA and drag boat racing)
@Darorld your post is very opinionated and may be best over in a alley somewhere; here on our site we try to not cling to the past, only to preserve history and promote the future of our sport.

Marlane, this is official (for the most part ).. As for pro classes, that's still up in the air on whether or not this will be a national event.. I believe their's some scheduling conflict with Lucas and the TV crews.. The date in Bako can't be moved due to other things being scheduled at the lake.. |

Lucas Oil is disappointed to announce the cancellation of its Western Swing race event scheduled in Lake Elsinore during the weekend of September 17-19, 2010 due to a lack of sufficient water. Lucas Oil officials tried to relocate the event to Chowchilla, California but later learned that the lake was going to be drained prior to the scheduled event. They then looked to Bakersfield, California as an alternative venue but were unsuccessful due to time constraints. Lucas Oil Director of Operations Mike Chastain said, “We are extremely sorry that another location could not be secured in time to put on another professional show for the Western Swing, and we will continue to work diligently to procure secure race dates for the 2011 race season.” The next race scheduled for the Lucas Oil Drag Boat Series will be the National Finals to be held November 4-7, 2010 at Firebird Raceway Park in Chandler, Arizona.
