LODBRS is also the promoter of the race. You may have to contact them, not sure. Call (830) 265-4790.

Tod, did you try to call Lucas Oil number? Since they are the promoter, the RV sites usually fall under the promoter's jurisdiction, and may be where the confusion lies. I don't know the details but it would be a good place to start.

Sorry Tod for being out of pocket. This race is also injuction with the unlimited lights. Firebird had already given them that weekend and then Ken was able to change the orignal date and combine the two races on the same weekend. My guess is this maybe why the person you first talked to didn't know about the drag boat race that weekend.

Glad to hear you got it handled anyway.

See you there!

Not yet..  The current combination is finally running and want to enjoy it before starting any new endeavors..  The other project is kind of at a stand still until we see how all this pans out..  Plus, why run a class that cost more to run but the purse is the same?

hey marlane, was the name "Kill 'n' Time" on the boat when you got it, or is that what you all named it?  i know a guy that raced a progas hydro 15 years ago by that name.  after he sold it 10+ years ago, it was never seen again... just wondering...

Almost ready to head west. If anyone wonders why Ken doesn't call them back immediately. Everything has been created from scratch. Here's a sample http://scottyb.home.texas.net/Rescu...%20041010/

Bob

No the boat was not named that. The boat is Tony Leamans old boat. Our friend bought it and asked Kurt to race it for him. We did not know there was antoher boat at one time called "Killin' Time" Go figure. Thought we were being original

marlane, i guess you could say it's re-original?

it was the name of jimmy perry's old capsuled comp hydro, then progas hydro.  he also had the same name on his old lake daytona before he sold  it maybe 15 years ago.  after going through a couple different owners, ed pacilio bought the daytona and ran it with the same name before jumping into hydros.    jimmy sold the hydro 12-13 years ago, and it's probably hiding out in somebody's barn somewhere...   still a cool name though...

Does any one have the results from Sunday's finals? I know that the wind picked up pretty bad mid afternoon, just wondered if it effected the race.

Due to the huge windstorm, Sunday's eliminations were cancelled...  However, they were able to get Round#1 of Top Fuel in prior to calling it for the day...

Problem Child won running a 3.60(something) @ 240
Toxic Rocket won (unknown ET and MPH)

Problem Child was declared the event winner due to their quicker ET in Round#1 (semi-finals)

Pro-Mod was also able to get Round#1 completed and were down to 6 boats remaining.

No other classes (either Pro or Sportsman) were able to run even one round of eliminations...

Dang. Well props to EKR. Daryl thought they had a 3.55 @ 250 or so in it. Maybe if the wind had behaved. It will be interesting to see what happens with the 1000' runs now. Be cool to compare the TFH with NHRA fuelers E.Ts. Good tt hear that he kept it in his lane this time. Took out some lights on his 2nd qualifying pass towards the ens of his run. They do build a bullet. It is going to be an interesting season..

You have got to be kidding it's no comparison...Give us 125' running start and see how quick we would run.

You are correct, other than engines, there is no comparison between asphalt and water. Water presents another dimension of problems that asphalt doesn't, from the starting line throughout the whole run. IMO, drag boats have far exceeded the accomplishments of the asphalt guys, especially over the last 5 years, when you compare budgets. Just think if these guys even had 1/4 of the budgets that the asphalt guys have.

I never said that they are the same creature. Like Scott said budgets, dynamics of H2o compaired to asphalt etc. All I said was it will be interesting to compare their times. Simular creatures, top of thier sport. Like looking at F-1, IRL, and NASCAR. But you can't beat NITRO.

All I can say is what a fun F'n ride it must be to cover 1000' (or should I say 900') in 3.67 seconds. Yea, we get a running start but WHATEVER it's still haulin' a$$ when you think about it. Big a$$ goodyears a multi-stage clutch, a wing and a mega budget versus those little bitty propellers and part-time racers?? 2.71 to the 660' mark aint too shabby either!!! Daryl's just giggling his butt off going down the track..

Thanks Duane but it's gunna take a lot more than a couple good outings to become the "big dawg" That Red boat has been fast for quite a while and has several jackets to show for it. We will however keep at it as long as there are parts to play with and a jug of fuel...

So Sean, in your expert opinion if a fuel boat was on water lined up with a dragster on asphault , both at a dead start. How much slower would the dragboat et with goood water and a smooth run compared to the dragster on asphault... Just curious

To make things even, the dragster also has to carry his own batteries and starter, fire on the line with the count down clock initiated, no burnout, no tweaking the tune up, and he can't use his brakes to stage. He has to reach up and grab a rope and line himself up straight down the track. Jeff, where have you been? Still grooming that Trick Pony?

Hi Scott good to hear from you.  We only raced once last year at Dexter, so I havent had much to say.  Thinking about going to Elsinore in September.  Are you guys the rescue crew for Lucas...

Back to the fuelers, just picture if both left the line at the same time under perfect conditions for both.  What would the et difference be.  Where is Eddie that top dawg guy when we need him. LOL

Car would be much quicker, providing there is no tire spin the car would be moving forward while the boat spun the props a bit.

Jeff ol buddy,

some where about 1.1 to 1.7 but this is a guesstimate based on how quick a car accelorates to 60' and 330' on average.

And let me again say that I am in noway trying to down play what Eddie and Russell have done. They are very good friends to myself and my family.

Just a follow-up. Speed Sport ran 3.79 and 3.80 at 1000' in OKC. That pretty much matches the car's best. I know it's comparing apples to oranges, but not too many years back, the boats were .7 to .8 behind the cars.
