I am truly numb right now, just got off the phone with Bob Genther he informed me Ronnie had a massive heart attack this morning. God Speed my Friend you are missed already.  |

We have just received information on funeral services for Ron:

Visitation:
Sat. Oct 24th 7 - 9 pm
Sun. Oct 25th 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm
Funeral Mon. Oct. 26 1:00
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Ron's memory to Racers Emergency Support Program and/or Racers For Christ.

We just arrived back in Grand Rapids after attending the first wake for Ron. It hasn't been easy to cope with this.....what a shock, to say the least. There were so many articles and wonderful pictures for viewing-awesome memories! Dawn was doing well, better than most that were in attendance.
Ron was in his drivers suit surrounded by his race helmet, his Wally's and so many awards. Dawn had made an outstanding quilt for Ron with pieces from his previous drivers suits. It is truly a work of art and love!
The services on Monday will be something very special; and I am sorry that we can not make it. It sounds like there might be some sort of memorial at the World Finals, which if it comes together, should a really memorable event.
As Scott and I have grown up in this sport, we have made many friends and have MANY race moms and dads. Ron was a Race Dad to me and I am thankful to have known him.
Dawn, Nickie, Bob, Susy, Rick, Rexy, Randall, Steve and so many others-our hearts are with you!
Ron, I wish you peace, Rockets candy, Mama Elly birthday brownies and record setting runs!

Ron and I have been competitors since 1986 when I started Drag Boat racing and we have been partners with the Fuel Boat for almost 11 years and never stopped competing with each other. It did not matter if it was driving the ProMod or driving the truck the longest without a pee break to who spent the most on medical bills since we got into Fuel." Bob
Sorry I did not share this last week, the lost of Ron has been a hard one for me. To Dawn, Bob and crew I am sorry I was not able to be with you all at Ronnie memorial but my heart, thoughts and prayers were/are with everyone.
