As a matter of fact, the last time I was in Jeff's pit was the last time Joy used that phrase. I think it was in Chowchilla last year. Wait, I take that back. She said it on the fishing trip in San Diego. And at SnoDown. And just this last weekend on the lake as I was trying my best to enjoy the fireworks.

Paul look me up when you get here. Ok Scotty not that I would giving him any special treatment just need to make sure I get the tracking collar and leash on as soon as I can......LOL. Paul give me a call 541-912-5121 and I will get some passes for you and if you have a minute or 2 introduce you to our team which some you already know. It will be great to let Burrows know what he's missin. Left the lake about 10 last night and things are already on the move for this weekend. Weather looks like it should be great and the turnout is looking very good. I will be callin back results to Stacey this weekend and try to keep all of the DBR folks in touch. Time to race boys. Hey Sparky, you better make that a short leash. You don't know how badly I would like to come up there right now. 106 here yesterday and probably higher today. I hope you guys have a great and safe race. |

Not to worry Scotty, Joy has already informed me that I will be tethered to Nolan (1 year-old) and Hayden (4 years-old). That's about as short a leash as you can get. |

Things are looking good in Dexter, 47 Boats ran Test & Tune, Total Boat count is 61 and Good IHBA contengency. The Weather is being good. Rained about 8pm and stopped within 10 minutes and now the sky is clear with a Full Moon. Bad luck for some, As Jim Kelly & Ryan Baxter both in Pro-Mod windowed blocks. A few timing system glitches, but got everything worked out. So far so good. We will be starting the circus again in the morning, and hope for the best of days. Will try to get qualiifing postions tomorrow night with reports from the lake. Stacey |

Got my first look at Dexter during T&T on Friday. Beautiful venue and a great group of people. Even the security guards were friendly and helpful. Thanks to the Trick Pony gang for the hospitality-my grandson is now your #1 fan. All he talked about for the rest of the weekend was "Jeff's race boat, "Jeff's race boat, Jeff's race boat". As a side note, for those of us old enough to remember the movie Animal House. it was filmed right around the corner in Eugene. I always thought that the Dexter Lake Club was a movie set? Negative. It's an actual bar-nightclub that is still in business, right around the corner from the track. They are a CDBA sponsor and it was worth the stop to get a photo taken and a T-shirt. Didn't get to see Otis, unfortunately. Sparky-thanks! We'll be back.

Got the circus put to bed and fiqured I better head this way and get the results out. Unfortunately my phone went down so I couldn't send Stacey the qualifying results I think my network that is supposed to be behind me with Verizon went on break. All and all despite the weather and glitches here and there we got the program in and saw some great side by side racing. I want to thank all of those that made the tow and I have made some new freinds as well as Dexter being an event and venue for them to remember. The weekend was hard on some and 2 more joined the windowed block club with Tim and Ryan but Big Jim Andrew put the tune on Dan Kirkmans "Awesome Toy" and Dan drove it to a new record for TFJ at 6.83 seconds. Congrats to them. The Results: PM - Shawn Reed - 7.094/157.56 - Win Ron Orr - Broke PE - Troy Hanneman - 8.081/130.20 - Win Brandon Davis - 7.928/147.39- Loss TE - Stan Tweedy - 8.962/116.36 - Win Andy Haavisto - 8.942/117.30 - Loss ME - Bob Prigmore - 10.016/98.36 - Win Mark Zent - 10.091/100.80 - Loss SE - Jeff Berr - 11.048/91.59 - Win Jayne Bradley - 18.289/1.277 - Loss RR - Tristan Hancock - 13.081 /13.010 DI/77.94 - Win Roger Sayles - 12.155/12.200 DI/86.14 - Loss Best Race Team - Chris Yates Best Reaction Time - Bob Prigmore - .012 Only bad thing about the weekend was being busier than a 1 legged man in a butt kickin contest and not getting to visit more with folks and yes Scotty that even does include Hoss.....LOL Sparky |

just got home about 1.5 hours ago, unloaded the truck, took a shower, and now i'm pooped. got home in 19 hours - not bad for a 1060 mile ride . sparky, i didn't say much at the awards, mainly because i didn't know if some of your folks would believe that i mean what i say (after observing saturday's meeting), but you guys put on a top drawer event, and made us feel very welcome. even with the weather and timing system glitches (which EVERYBODY has at one time or another), you were able to get the whole program in, including a gamlber and second chance. beyond those minor items, i don't know if everyone realizes how well organized you all really are, considering the logistics involved. and yes, the road is still up, down, and twisty. but once there, it is still great! and i want to thank frank and jeff berr for having us over saturday night for fajitas - they were AWESOME! i think brent lapraim had something to do with those things too... next year, two pan fulls would be better than one . |

Glad your grandson had a good time Paul, it was nice seeing you guys. Other than going out the first round to Bill M with a breakout we had a wonderful time. The tow from Shasta to Oregon is a real "mow fow" up and down drinking some serious fuel. Everything I have heard about Dexter and the CDBA is more than true. The official's were great to deal with and members were very friendly. Can honestly say we made some new friends. Even some new doggie friends, Tim in S/E's pomerainians. The lake is beautiful and by far the nicest track we have ever been to. I think the race went as smooth as possible. Sparky thanks for all of your help getting me up there and for throwing us a bone for second chance runner-up. We used the money for dinner, LOL. On a funny note, I guess I'm the only racer that went in the water this weekend... Came in a little to hot on the rope at the ramp Sunday morning and got jerked in the drink saving the boat from loading itself on the trailer. I was told that I would have to be checked by medical for a shruken part due to the cold water.LOL Its always easy to say nice things about a race when you win, but Bob wasnt blowing smoke we feel the same way. Thank you again Sparky and CDBA for having us. I would recommend this race to anyone. It was like a vacation... |

You know at times I really wonder if all the stress, hours of work, dealing with boneheads (if you were at the drivers meeting that will make sense) and trying to make sure all goes well is worth it and I see 2 posts like the ones above and my mind says "Hell Yes". Bob and Jeff thank you from the heart as your words keep the fire burning in me to trudge on and make sure all those that attend our races feel as you do. Bob I will let Frank and Jeff know to double the order for next year.....LOL. Sparky |

Ihave some shots from the Friday Test & Tune up at: http://picasaweb.google.com/snark219 I should have the rest up in the next couple of days, things are a little busy in the Snarky household right now. I have to say the weather for most of the weekend was not exactly what this photographer would order but what can you do about that. Hope everyone had a good time, I sure did. |

Courtney, glad you had such a good time. You did a great job for your first race. It will make a big difference for you off the line once you get your air shifter. Where do you live... The NJBA in Bakersfield is also a great place to race... |

No shit Vince thankfully it didnt happen at Firebird. That was tne cleanest water we have ever raced in. No scumline or sand and the prop didnt even begin to rust. Didnt even have to spray the boat off in the pit before wiping it down. Ran a little slow at first due to so much humity. Gave her a little more blower and got in the high 8s where we wanted to be. Spoke with Sparky about possibly raising the entry fees for that race for some purse money. Take care Vince and have fun with the little one. I'm a grandpa now... |

How did you like driving to the rope? I thought that was cool last year, just seemed to burn up more fuel. Are you guys coming to Ming in Sept? |

Hi Ralph... It was a blast driving to the rope. Once I got the boat running right I was doing half passes to the rope with a loose plate, master fin style... It was a wonderful vacation... As far as Ming havent heard if there is going to be a T/E purse yet.. Have not had any sponsor money in two years which appears to be a thing of the past in this economy. |
