this was my first time at the cove, and i have to say it was the best race i've ever attended. i've never seen such a high level of competition so deep in numbers. glen brashears and scott seastrom do an awesome job. the ramp people were unbelievable. glen came by our pit maybe 15 times over the weekend. hicks, bandy and i were pitted next to big ed, who we visited with a lot over the weekend - it was great seeing him take that final.
there were 36 boats in the 8's, with the bump ending at .06. the bump for 2nd chance was .09. since i'd never run 1k before, although i was upset with myself for not making the field, i was pretty happy to play on sunday and actually end up with a little dough.
this was like bracket racer heaven, and i can't wait to go back next year. i even talked a bit with 372 while we were on the outramp rope; i suggested we just agree to disagree on some issues

. it was a 3000 mile drive, but worth every minute of it.
