I need to replace the tubing and fitting to my (bimba valve) air shifter for the v-drive. The push in type fitting broke. Is there a common source for these ? |

Good question, can you give us more details please? We will try and help find a source for you, just need to clearly understand what you are looking for.
How common is this "bimba value " used in drag boat racing or in boats? |

Thanks Duane, the Bimba valves are pretty common in drag boats. The hard (polyurethane?)plastic tubing should be 1/4" with the fittings of the same dimension. They are probably an npt thread into the valve with a small plastic compression type fitting you push the tubing into. Compress the plastic fitting and you easily withdraw the tubing. Hope I am specific enough. |

Take a look at Parker Hannifin's WEB site; www.parker.com and search for "Prestolok". They have all types of push Lock fittings. Russ G. (Toxic Rocket) |

They make these fittings in both plastic and brass.
I prefer the brass fittings as they are not as prone to breakage as the plastic ones. |

You can also get these fittings from McMaster Carr. They have them in the catalog. As well as the Poly-Flo tubing, They also have the tubing in different colors. I ran RED tubing inside the capsule for the fire system and black for the air system,( Parachute, Clutch and whatever else needed air ) Another easy place to order this stuff. But as Mike said, DON'T buy the plastic ones only buy the brass or chrome plated brass ones. For your Bimba they make some that are 90's and at the pipe thread end, once screwed in, the 90 swivels 360 deg. |

Perfect! But I noticed on the Mcmaster-Carr site that there are different pressure ratings, temp ratings, polyurethane, poly...., poly..... etc.. is there a standard type that is commonly used. Wish there was some markings on my hose to go by , but there is nothing. Just black tubing.

Any truck shop(Kenworth, Peterbuilt etc.) Will or should have this stuff. It's very common on trucks. Grainger has all this stuff also, you just have to buy in large quantities. Most of the 1/4" lines are rated for 300psi. Your regulator should be stamped with the psi setting. 155 or so. Hope this helps. The truck shops will have differant colors to. Red, yellow, green, blue etc. |

Ditto on the diesel truck shops as the tubing is DOT (Dept of Transportation) rated at a much higher pressure than McMaster Carr's inventory. |
