Mr. Barnes
My Nane is Dave Gipe and were hoping you might be able to help me on a base set up for a 8sec blown alcohol flat. I need to know what gears to start with, prop and how much blower most of you flats are running "on average" We have been running a 9sec deal and a 8sec blown alcohol hydro but the set ups are completly diffrent on the hydro as they are going to be on the flat. Any help? since you are the flat king and nobody is really running an 8sec blown alcohol flats anymore. Thank you for your time and any info you might share. Happy Holidays Everyone.

Thank you both for the reply. Mike I ws told to talk to you, since you are currently helping with alans boat. This will be just an 8sec boat, boat weighs approx 460 pounds, motor will be between 468 and 482ci great set of dart heads and a blower shop retro 871. I have several props to choose from and have been working with Tom Bentley "GREAT GUY" but if you could share any info to help get me pointed in the right direction that would be great without giving away 2 many ssecrets of course. You both have been doing it for so many years and I respect any advice. I was going to talk to Alan @ the world finals this year but were way to busy trying to get the old motor to run "NEVER HAPPENED" LOL. Thanks agian fof any help guys. Maybe we might be able to talk on the phone, if its not 2 much trouble?

I keep telling "MY LITTLE BROTHER" my wife could drive his hydro!!!!!!!!! If my memory is correct he bought a hydro becouse he would'nt drive my flat. LOL I have to give him some credit, he does have the brains of the family
