Hi Styx818, check out the next issue of Drag Boat Review for an update of the VDBC season so far, had some great weather and condidtions for a change, but a lack of top line hydros which is disapointing. Stay in touch at www.vdbc.com for the latest news.

Hi Gary,
I have not seen pics of your boat but I have a large pic of Daves Toy on the wall of my garage (a head on shot going down the track), I think his paint job is awesome and plan to something like it on my boat. Thanks for the heads up on that website, great looking rides. One question, do some you guys run muffs on your headers?
Sure looks like it.

P.S.
STIX818 is good ol Vince Nelson, a helluva nice guy.....
huh Vince!! (see ya at RB I hope)

Hi John, yeah we have a rule installed that states you must either run water injection, mufflers or muffler inserts inside the pipes to try to quieten down the noise. Zoomies are to have some sort of insert inside but it's not really enforced. Mufflers are hollow with water and it does knock the ring off the engine. Some actually go better with them!! Will send you a nice pic of our old boat, 'Dad's
Toy' (now Dave's Toy) and will send you one of our new ride.
Gary.

Hi Gary,

Daves Toy was your boat? What an awsome ride. I trust the new one is better, if that is possible.

Gary,

I guess I am blind in one eye and can't see out the other. I just put 2 and 2 together after you brought the DBR home page to my attention!

Thank you very much for the pictures, now I see why you sold Dads Toy.

By the way, the owner of Piedmont Truss, Bill Myer (my employer), took his boat Myer Fire to Australia in the 70's / early 80's for the ski races there. Did you possibly ever meet him?

Hey John, no I didn't meet Bill Myer here, but this is gunna give away my age I guess, but I'm 100%  sure that the 'Bionic Kangaroo", as he was knicknamed, Robbie Woods skied behind Bill's boat over in the States for a while. I'm sure there was a relantionship with those guys in ski racing. I've got an article somewhere here about Bill's boat and Robbie Woods, if I can dig it out we can scan it and post it for him. When Duane aka Admin was here at my place he couldn't beleive some of the stuff we have here, he reckons Ive got more history on USA drag boat racing than he's ever seen! Pity, my wife just wants it thrown out!!! DOH, no way baby.Think Bill had a moustache back then ask him for me and that will test my memory. Think the boat was a Shiada or Hallet something like that, Gale Banks twin turbo????idea something like that anyway.....gettin' old mate!
