The date will change for the Drag Boat Races in Chowchilla. It will not be June 6-8. As soon as we have any updates, we will post here |

Hey guys, does anybody know the name of the RV Resort just up the street from the track? We stayed there last year and it was VERY nice and would like to stay there again this year. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jt |

Mark and I stopped by the Berenda Reservoir on the way back from Red Bluff and I must say I have never seen the lake bed before! They are to start filling it on Monday. I wish I had thought of this sooner and could have made arraingments todo this but I want to place a timelasp camera at the lake and film the weeks to come.
I think it would be cool to watch the lake fill, the track getting set up, the race, the track being torn down and then come back in 10 weeks and film the lake being drain and drying out back to being a lake bed.
Maybe next year!!!
Here are a few old memories from Chow. |

Those of you who came this year I would like to thank you.
What next year has in store, I do not know. The Chowchilla Parks & Rec. Director has been put in charge of keeping this race alive. Marty knows a lot more now than he did in the beginning. There were several things in the shadows that helped expedite the process. Unfortunately, everything comes with a cost.
If you would like to make your feelings known contact Marty, I do not know his last name nor do I have his email address. Go to the city's web site I'm sure you can find it there.
I wish you all well.

I need to give a special thanks to Bruce Pedretti for going out in the muck at Chowchilla yesterday and retrieving my lost rudder assy. That was really cool Bruce and probably just saved me $800. Thanks again, Eddie |

Eddie I was glad to do it. Thanks to Mark's picture of the boat with the rudder in the air and Rex telling me where he was when he hit the chutes, I had enough good information for my wild ass guess to be close. Check your e-mail for the shipping info. You should be recieving everything in a couple of days. Take care, Bruce |

Yep Mark and I can agree with that!!!
Wish I could head up that way and check it out after the water is gone but the price of gas and my Jeep says it's not a practical thing to do... |

Actually it wasn't too bad as far as the mud goes. I only walked from the island to the left lane speed trap to find Eddie's rudder assembly. I guess I could have walked back to the holding rope and looked for Greg's push rod. I will take the trip to Lake Ming when they drain it to search for "Treasures" Like my favorite panama hat with 30 years worth of "Bling". I talked to the parks and rec dept. today and they aren't sure when they will be draining it for the planned repairs. |
