This is going to be fun. Six boats that have run well down into the fours. Actually I think you missed one that would bring it to seven. Eddie if I remember correctly the old Queen Mary 2 likes the salt. Mid 4.7's wasn't it.

Geral, there's a real good chance we're going to make it. We may not have a lot of goodies to burn up, but we're trying our best to get there. Scott Thompson will be driving the boat. We hope to do a license upgrade on Friday, take it easy through qualifying Saturday and then we're gonna let the ol' girl eat on sunday!!!!!

Speaking rooms...
Most of you know where I work...
You guys need to get a hold of me no later than June for the San Diego race, and I can help greatly!
Many of you are aware what I am talking about, and getting a great price at a resort hotel with a bay view and just 2-3 minutes drive from the race course.
I still might pull of a few rooms...? but there are several TFH teams and a few others that have cut there rooms expense by half or more by going through me.
Keep this in mind for next season...

Blue Thunder will not be in San Diego. I am waiting to see if anything is going to be done about the sandbagging and the special classes in the PCE Class. Hope to hear something on these issues before the World Finals.

Brenda,
You would not be talking about the WEAK Hot Shot boat would you.... Can not beleive they actually radio to eachother to slow down so they do not move their index..... Great way to run PCE... |

there still is the prolimited quagmire.. heard a rumor something will be done about it, but it's just rumor until it happens. |

It is a great class which allows boats of all kinds (flats, jets, ect.) to run but the index's do not allow for tight racing... This has to change to keep the boats in the class...

Ah that's funny because I'm feeling the same way. Went out and put together a very nice motor and found out the rules changed. Then I went out and bought items to be competitive with the new rules and once again they changed!!! Oh well, I guess I have a bunch of spare parts!!:( I've actually thought about going back to TE myself!!! Had a lot of fun when I was there!!!

vince, all i know is that the plj index was reset at chowchilla to 9.08 (when the boat would run well into the 8's), and jeremy dickerson's index at marble falls was 9.31. i'd bet that if sunday showdown shows up, it will have an index of 9.08. i don't know how ihba will rectify this, but it will have to be addressed at some point because he is aware that others are in process, or have built honest pro limited engines, without 14 or 16 degree heads and titanium stuff, to compete with.
pro limited hydro doesn't have a whole lot of margin right now, at least an honest pro limited like hotshot (and like it or not, the engine is true to the class). that index was reset back east. if frank could run the numbers he ran in bakersfield in june, as a tfj he'd have plenty of margin to race with in san diego.
i know i'm not in the class, but it still interests me, and my pce championship jacket and trophy from 2000 are still special to me. i'd just like to see the class do well.

Actually I had every intention of making it to the race brother Vince, but my # 1 guys Ken and Aaron couldnt get off work and I didnt want to go without them. Were going to plan ahead and go next year if we qualify. In any event, Miss Amber and I are competing in the "Real Cowboy Challenege" at the end of the month in Stockton. Starting to go back to my roots and its a whole lot cheaper than dragboat racing. If I win the saddle I'll strap it on you next year big fella I may only make a couple local races a year but at least I'm still doing it... and will continue to do so
As far as you Champ just keep that big motor and run P/E next year... You will be a contender and wont have to deal with this PCE bullsh!t any longer. And since you already won TlE you cant come back and have to step up...

Prigmore..."Honest Pro Limited engines " YOU don't Know what you are talking about as usual.
Are factory 7.5 degree Ford spread port heads and factory 13 degree Mopar spread port heads considered "Honest" but not GM ?
With the 7.95 at Chowchilla and the PLH index at 8.59,that so called " honest " Pro Limited Hydro still has .64 in his back pocket for Sandbaging. <!-- Edit --> Post Edited (RONPITTS) : 9/7/2007 2:02:06 PM GMT |

Jeff are you going to go to bakersfield before the year is over? I'm HOPING to go in October. Need to get some serious seat time!!! What's this real cowboy challenge?? Trying to get the boat back together next weekend. Missing one rocker!!!
Hey Ron I'm not pointing any fingers. I just wish IHBA would make up there minds. Now I'm hearing that there might be a PL 1 and PL 2 when I just went out and spent some money to compete with your combo when I could have stayed with the original set-up. Either way we as a class need to get things straighten out because we are losing great racers!!! I know I'm a rookie in the class but I'm sure the old man thinks the same way!!!

and i guess there must be a multitude of factory or factory replacement headed ford and mopar pro limiteds out there running .70 under established index's? maybe you could share who those people are?
the fact is, you finagled your way into installing spread port, non factory or factory replacement heads, getting an allowance of titanium in the valve train (is that factory spec too?), and your "one off" index didn't quite make it to marble falls.
honestly, it would be great to see you or others win in pce, get the class competitive again like it used to be. but building what amounts to a single carbed comp motor and calling it a pro limited doesn't do the class any good. if you think he's illegal, protest him. |

I say they do away with PCE and make everyone race PE or TE. Take the prize money and divided it and give half to each class. One it beefs up 2 already great classes. Two it eliminates a bunch of BS whinning crap at every single race. Three IHBA doesn't have to worry about paying for the $6 trophies, the championship jacket and championship $$$CHECKS$$$. Plus they wont have to fix the starting lights everytime the Lipinski's lose a race, because oddly enough they aways break when them and only them lose??? Crap I'm sorry, I'm just whinning because I got my a$$ handed to me for the last 2 years in the class.

HI Vince...I have 2 combo's also. The big thing that is hurting the class in all the sandbagging.
You don't need a good motor to run 10 or 11 seconds. |
