Well I guess us few left behind are going to have to guard the fort while every one is gone to Phoenix. Joe Don, I guess we could talk about deer hunting. |

Ferg, maybe the "GREAT ONE" will call one of us and let us know how he is doing. Mom will be there Thursday afternoon and will have her cell, so there is no reason why he can't call and give us some grief for a change.

Ed, that feeling is mutual, I had great aspirations of going to Phx. this year, but with all of the problems with the wifes sister, I cancelled early, as it worked out I would hve been in a heap of trouble with the work schedule had I gone. When we were racing I would leave the guys with plenty of work to do and would be up early in the morning they were pouring, calling the concrete plant, pump truck and everything, so I never did stop working to race, just did it by long distance, with little sleep.

JDL, God willing, we'll make it next year over a couple of cold ones. The only good thing for us by not going is you won't have those 3 days after that we call the "River Blues". Those going to Firebird will be dealing with the "Nitro Blues" for a few days after they catch up on their sleep

Ed, hell it took almost 3 days to get the rig back home, and then the doldrums set in while trying to make enough money to cover the trip, it was fun and would not have changed anything except my age, lol. And yes, God willing we are gonna have a pow-wow over a case or two and swap some tales. I am looking forward to it.

Ferg, this gives me time to get my $hit together for next weekend, I haven't done a thing so far, other than give the boys money for the corn and such, ain't had time. The deer I watch everyday ain't making out yet, but the horns are good and the bodies are great.

JDL, I saw a couple here at the station in the last 2 weeks, one in the upper 120 class and the other pushing 140+. Real good deer for this area.

Sam, you are not that far away from where I hunt, Priddy, Texas, I have had this lease for 18 years now, and there is no need to pre scout it, if they are there, good, if not they will eventually show up, and I am one that stays in the Conrad Hilton deer blind from can til can't. We have had lots of rain and the deer should be in great shape.

I thought this topic was "On the Beach" not "Stuck at the Deer Lease in a Shack". |

Joe Don evidently Dan has not enjoyed the experience of being "stuck at the dear lease in a shack". You know that "left coast" mentality and everything. He probably has to get 38 permits to hunt. He's just bitter that he's "on the beach" too. Big old sissy. |

By the way, who is this guy any way, Casper. He shows up and then vanishes, shows up and then vanishes. For your information MISTER Aeseth, my feeder has stock tank behind it with sand on the bank. In Texas that qualifies as a beach. A stock tank to you foreigners is a pond. |

Ferg, he lived here for a while so he knows the importance of deer hunting to those of us that live in GODS country. He is probably the only outsider that knows the first weekend in november is a state holiday.

Sam, I probably won't need any help, I have all of these Fireman Paramedics, and when it comes time for the surgery I just let them practice their medical skills on my trophy, like, now show me how you do that one more time. Not. I can clean one before they get scrubbed up for the surgery. Thanks for the offer. I will send you a pix of the one I got today with the camera.

Ferg, the question should be have the snakes gone to bed yet? cause you know they were out, I found quite a few this year, rattlers and copperheads.

As a matter of fact I've seen several in the last week and a half. Hopefully with this cool front coming in they'll head home.
