The rooms have been blocked, the beer has been bought and you have been invited. The 2003 awards dinner and general membership meeting has been schedualed for January 10th, 2004 at the Sherraton Four-Points 314-291-6800. You do not have to be a points winner to attened. It is a PARTY. We have blocked only 80 rooms for the weekend so hurry and book. The block will be dropped on Dec. 26th and you may be left out. Room rates are 65.00 per night, just mention National Drag Boat for the rate.

The dinner and awards banquet are good but the best part is the hospitality/bench racing room that is open Friday night, Saturday afternoon and Saturday after the banquet well into the AM hours of Sunday. You would not beleive how fast some those jetboats get by 3 AM!

Buzz,
Hey, Hope you are having a good week, I have the copy of the essay going out tomorrow with the tape. As you can see, I found the site. I cannot operate a computer for crap, but I will learn before this is over. I plan on being there for the dinner, maybe we will have a better chance to talk there. I am serious about volunteering for you guys.
We will talk, let me know that you got the tapes and the essay.

Buzz,
Lord, what a week! I have the tapes done for you and Duane, they are in the car as I type.My daughter helped with copying them. I don't know for sure if she put the skit of my nursing class on there or not, but consider yourself warned. We were all nurses away from home, school, and we had a good time! Up til they told us some guy had been shot a block away! Amazing what a damper that puts on things. They will be leaving in tomorrows mail! I promise!! I just wanted to jot a personal note to each before I throw them in the mail. I am really serious about the volunteering. I have been in the medical field 18 plus years, did EMT in 1988, LPN 2001, AA (Associates in Arts) 2004- if things keep changing for my degree plan, the AA will truely bring on a new meaning. HA HA Anyway, Keep in touch, I will see you in St. Louis!, in January.
Cathie

Buzz, I set the first pass he did at 202mph hour at the beginning of that tape. But, you will also see toward the middle somewhere, he is in it again. Sorry the tape is so amateur, but it is the same guy, right?
Is he doing alright now?

Buzz, how about sending a report from the meeting to those of us that can't make it. With 600+ miles to get there can be a problem. We would like this report ASPA so we can make adjustments. The first race isn't when we need to find out.

That is JUST THE POINT.. We want you to attend so your input can be made in person and things can be explained.. instead of hearing it second, third or even fouth hand.
Plan on the weekend, the hotel is not that expensive at 65 a night. You will spend more on a Christmas Gift for the inlaws. If you don't want to attend the dinner skip it and see St. Louis. (It is a pretty cool town)Take the wife, girlfriend or significant other, on a trip that isn't two, three days of boats, time slips, and long nights. Southwest has CHEAP flights into St. Louis from almost every where.

I don't want the info third or fourth hand. Second hand from the horses mouth will work for me. Money is getting tight, so the inlaws are getting a McDonalds gift cetificate Big Smile and if I fly to St. Louis I may have to miss a race next year.Shock The changes would make a great update for the web site though.Approve

Joey,
I haven't heard of any "significant" changes to the rule book. However, any changes should be noted in the monthly newsletter and are usually highlighted in the rulebook. When you pay your 2004 dues you'll get the new rulebook. The biggest thing that I have heard of is a 7.70 breakout rule.Shock I am going to the annual membership meeting and I'll try to remember to send you an update on what is discussed.Cool

Thanks to to SLDBA for a great weekend. I think Drag Boat Racing is heading in the right direction! The SLDBA is a class act! It was nice to also see Charlie represent his IHBA and attend the event! Congradulations to Dawn on her Rookie of the year award! She really deserved it!

The only bad thing that happened at the banquet was that the Rams lost. I was their biggest fan, hoping that they would win and go to Philly where the Eagles would kick their butt! We wanted a piece of them! LMAO!

Go Eagles!

The weekend was a Blast. It was nice meeting all of you. Randy left out that I was brought back in as the Marketing Dir. for SLDBA. The "Significan rule changes I had mentioned before are as follows
