Thanks Brian for gettin this up, my confuser died and I just got the new system up. Made the step from RR to TFH on the computer and I'm gettin things down finally so I can get things done. The Clair Unger Memorial Shootout is not only a tribute to a great man its a bunch of great racing and great times. Dexter is a great venue and with the double round eliminations plenty of seat time. CDBA is proud to host this event and if you talk to any of the down south racers that came up for the Summer Clash I think they will echo my thoughts. Hope to see the whole west coast PE class show for this one unless the boys from the north scare you a little..........................LOL. Sparky

I totally understand Bill the timing of the 2 races s***s and the points mean a lot to many teams. I hope the schedule conflicts will be worked out next year but ca-ca occurs and we just have to work with what we have. Headed to Merced Fri. hope to see you there. Sparky

Freaky we've missed you and the crew and will be waitin for you to make your debut with the new piece. The weekend was great for the Northwest Nationals and the PE shootout, we had a few glitches with the timing system but made things happen and got in 2 days of great side by side action. Countdown clock decided it had counted down as many times as it wanted to and gave up the ghost early Sunday. Ok imagine this no clock but the tree still works and shades of pairing up and the flag start (did I just age myself) came to mind but it worked and we got all the racing done.I'm sure Brian hasn't posted yet because he hasn't recuperated from the celebration as he took the PE win and the 2k prize home to Vancouver. Congrats Hot Rod on your win and Kudos to your whole crew. Got the repairs done to the sponson after our little mishap with Ron Oar at Lakside and took the SuperGlide to #1 qualifier spot with Ron at #2 and that would be the way PM ended just switched around with Ron's Hogwild taking the win by .043 over Tim B. in the Glide in the finals. The rest of the classes ended as follows:Lynn Cortner in the Tar Baby boat took runner up in the PE class. TE went to Doug Durbin with Dene Belyk from Canada finishing 2nd. ME was won by Merle Colvin and the "Kid" Brian Reinhart took runner up honors. SE went to Mike Kenner all the way from Winnemuca NV and the runnerup spot went to Mark Wall from WA. RR1 winner Jeff Andrews bested Mitch Selby in the finals in a close one. Peter Yates took the RR2 win and the runner up spot went to Rick Coffman. In the RR3 class Andy Havisto beat Clay Stiefbold for the finals. The best reaction time went to Jeff Green with a .003 and the best race team went to Ron Oar and the Hogwild team. Congrats to all the winners for another fine weekend of racing in the Northwest. Sparky

It was a great race as usual, the competition was tight in all class and the weekend went off with out to much trouble, great recovery by “BIG Larry†on the lights and off we went again. Thanks to Dan the Potty man for a speedy ride on the water bike to the bank for a potty break for Crafty Bob and myself, and it was great seeing Crafty Lee making the haul and almost taking some cash home. Big Kudos’ to the crew for a awesome weekend and making the PE bracket very interesting were its going to boil down to PHX between the Vengeance Boat, Tar Baby and Liquid Insanity for the PE Championship. CYA all in PHX.!

Ron that is the plan as the clock went south we decided that come hedouble hockey sticks or high water that the 2 clock system would be in the works this winter. I have lots of work to do to get everything in A#1 shape for next year but it will get done and next years IHBA points race will be for all the eliminator classes. Sparky

Jo Don, I am still going to race the P.E. class with the IHBA, and we are going to swap motors for the NJBA to run the 7 sec class. We have some Jon Kasse big stuff to play with .This is the engine that we will use at the smokin cove. The boat is a Bitz 501 that is highly modified on the bottom side, and has a little Kurtis, a little MPH, and a little of my own. She weighs 360lbs and has turned out really cool. This thing has taken me a long time to build, two years to be exact. My goal is to race as many races as I can in 2004, hiting all the IHBA DIV 1 AND DIV 6, and as many with the njba. Jo Don, one thing that I can say about this site, is that nothing has changed at all. Talk to you soon, Joe. |
