01/14/2010 - Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series Bracket, Sportsman, and PCE, Class Championship “Shot at the Title”

16 boat field race, in conjunction with LODBRS/ NAPA Auto Parts, ‘World Finals’, Firebird International Raceway, November 4-7, 2010 Qualifying:

•Automatic Berth: All division (CDBA, KDBA, SDBA, SLDBA), PWC, RR, SE, ME, TE, PE, & PCE Points Champion, (or points leader in each class if season isn’t over). NJBA: Points Champion in 12, 11, 10, 9, 8 second classes & for PCE: one(1) boat: the Points Champion, with the highest point total, from all other NJBA classes. A multiple class Points Champion: must declare one class only. If the Division Class Champion does not compete at the World Finals, that berth will transfer to the At Large field.

•At Large Berth: The field will be filled out using boat points accumulated from a combination of Divisional (home & away) and National events, a minimum of five (5) races, or the point total from five (5) best races. Note: you must be a member of a LODBRS, Division association. In the event of a tie for the sixteenth (16th) position, a run-off will be held during qualifying for the LODBRS World Finals. Pairings (if necessary) will be by blind draw. If the run-off round(s) are in addition to the regular qualifying rounds, no points, or gain in qualifying position for the LODBRS World Finals, will be allowed. If the 16 boat field is not filled, no boats with less than 5 races, will be allowed in the ‘Shot at the Title’ competition.

Championship: Champion of each LODBRS, Bracket, Sportsman and PCE Class, will be determined by points accumulated during qualifying and round wins at the LODBRS World Finals. Pairings for ‘Shot at the Title’, will be according to qualifying position for LODBRS World Finals. Should there a tie for the point lead, a run-off will be held, and if necessary pairings will be by a blind draw. NOTE: It is possible to win the LODBRS Class Championship, and not the World Finals, and vice-versa.

Now that lucas oil has an offical rule book. Pge 45 under THROTTLE it says no delay boxes. Can you use a delay box to shift a transmission? What about a delay box or timing device to ingauge a clutch?

Are all the clubs going to use this rule book for the club races or make up thier own? Also are rules going to be changed at a race like it happened in the past?????
